It's hard to believe that the Christmas season is upon us. Where has the year gone? It seems like it was just the other day that I was taking my Christmas tree down and now it's time to give gifts again.
I love this time of year! Families get together, you decorate your homes, and you bake until your hearts content--well, I do anyway.
We are busy these days at Second Baptist Childcare. The Lord has allowed us to care for so many precious children. The classrooms are decorated for the holidays. The children's faces light up when they see everything. Christmas parties are going on and gifts are being swapped, and with all this excitement it's easy for them and us to forget the true meaning of Christmas.
"And she brought forth her first born son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger...."
May we never forget the true meaning of Christmas. Christ came to this world for you and me, to give us the gift of eternal life. May this season find you and yours celebrating the true meaning of that glorious gift.
Remember, the daycare will be closed for the Christmas Holidays on Friday, December 23 and Monday, December 26. We will also, be closed on Monday, January 2 for New Years.
May the Joy of Christ fill your hearts the Christmas Season and the year to come!
Merry Christmas from the Second Baptist Church Childcare/Learning Center

A Thankful Heart.....
On facebook a few weeks ago, I noticed that several of my family and friends were putting on their status things they were thankful for. I read many of them and thought, I need to do this as well. So, began my daily post. As the days and weeks have past, and I sit down to post for the day, I realize just how amazing God has been to me and how very thankful I am for His many blessings. I began with thanking Him for my family, my salvation, my job, hugs and kisses, laughter, music and the list goes on and on....
This morning as I sat down to post, I could hear infants crying and toddlers playing (with a few screams thrown in) and I thought to myself, thank you. Thank you, Lord, for the crying and screaming of the children, thank you, Lord, for the sounds of children laughing and playing and running and jumping. Thank you, Lord, for all of this. Because with the laughing and playing, crying and screaming, I know that these children are in a safe place and are loved and being cared for. I know that these children get lots of hugs and love from the ladies who take care of them. They are taught about Jesus and His love for them. They are taught their A, B, C's and 1, 2, 3's. They are taught to say, "excuse me" and "thank you," and tell me over and over again, " I love you, Mrs. Ann".
I am a blessed woman. I have an amazing job and I work with some awesome people. But most of all, I serve a loving God who has seen fit to bless me with all of these wonderful things. And my heart is Thankful...
